Biography:
Dr. Mariana Merlini Coelho was born and raised in Brazil and moved to the United States at 17. She began her healthcare career as a registered nurse after completing nursing school in Florida, later earning a biology degree from Florida Atlantic University while working as an RN in a neurology stepdown unit. She completed medical school at the American University of the Caribbean, with pre-clinical training in Sint Maarten and clinical rotations in Miami, FL. She brings over a decade of experience in neurology and telemetry nursing across acute care, home health, behavioral health, and school-based pediatrics. These experiences have shaped her patient-centered approach and deepened her understanding of challenges beyond the hospital setting. Now entering her third year of pediatric neurology residency at Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Coelho has presented research at national conferences and serves as a mentor to medical students and interns. She remains deeply committed to neurology, education, and advocacy.
