Biography:
Professor Mark Kindy, PhD, FAHA, holds a distinguished position in the College of Medicine, serving as a Professor in Molecular Pharmacology & Physiology and the Department of Pharmaceutical Science at the University of South Florida. With a strong educational background, Dr. Kindy earned his PhD in Biochemistry from Boston University in 1987 and a BS in Zoology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, in 1980. His academic philosophy revolves around "Educating the next generation scientists."
As a distinguished academician, Professor Kindy actively contributes to Interdisciplinary and Emerging Signature Programs, including Allergy, Immunology & Infectious Disease, Biomedical Engineering & Nanomedicine, Cardiovascular studies, Cellular and Molecular Biology, Neurodegenerative Disease, and Neuroscience.
Dr. Kindy's research is dedicated to understanding inflammation in neurological and neurodegenerative disorders. His interests extend to investigating cancer, cardiovascular diseases, inflammatory conditions, and the epigenetic effects associated with these health challenges.
